Mountain of Melons

Juicing what is in season and often on sale at the farmers market is a great way to affordably up your nutrition. These peak season choices are delicious now as well as when preserved and frozen. Juices, jams, compotes, are quick and simple and can be kept frozen or on the shelves to use throughout the year.

I generally set aside a bit of time on Sundays to prep food for the week, make a special dinner for my honey and to preserve whatever bulk peak season things I was able to find at the Sunday farmers market. My nutrition has improved a lot since I stopped buying packaged food and I have saved a lot of money as well. I have very little trash which also feels like an accomplishment, junk mail seems to be the thing that won’t go away no matter how hard I try.
