9Zero, SF’s Climate Hub Turns One

San Francisco’s Leading Climate Innovation Hub Turns One: 9Zero Marks a Milestone in San Francisco’s Green Revolution
By Daisy Carlson

SAN FRANCISCO — On a quiet block in downtown San Francisco, just steps from the city’s financial core, a different kind of economy is taking shape—one built not on speculation, but on viable sustainabile technologies that address climate change head on. As 9Zero celebrates its one-year anniversary on April 24, it has emerged as one of the country’s most dynamic gathering points for climate professionals.

More than just a coworking space, 9Zero bills itself as a community for founders, scientists, investors, and activists—all working to accelerate climate solutions. Part members club, part innovation hub, the space has become an anchor in a growing ecosystem of mission-driven professionals shaping the future of clean energy, green finance, regenerative agriculture, and beyond.

“If you’re building for a livable planet, you belong here,” reads the invitation on their site—and in its first year, thousands took them up on it.

During San Francisco Climate Week 2024, 9Zero hosted more than 20 events and welcomed over 5,000 attendees—an impressive feat for a newcomer. The events ranged from nuclear energy salons and sustainable fashion showcases to investor roundtables and late-night panels on AI and decarbonization.

As Climate Week 2025 approaches, the energy is only building. “This year, we’re not just hosting events—we’re hosting momentum,” said a 9Zero spokesperson. “People don’t just come to network. They come to launch ideas and build partnerships.”

The concept is spreading. In addition to its flagship San Francisco space—which features four flexible event venues equipped with full A/V, security, and janitorial support—9Zero has quietly expanded to Seattle, New York City, and Los Angeles. Members at any location get equal access to the platform’s offerings, whether they’re booking space, attending events, or simply tapping into the network.

And while polished spaces and curated programming are part of the draw, 9Zero’s real asset may be less tangible: trust. At a time when climate urgency is colliding with institutional inertia, the community model has resonated with a generation of leaders hungry for progress.

“The big ideas in climate don’t happen in isolation,” said one early member. “They happen in conversation—often over coffee, sometimes over cocktails, always with intention.”

One year in, 9Zero has helped redefine what a climate hub can be: not a think tank or a trade show, but a thriving, living room for the planet’s problem solvers.

And as one sign near the entrance reminds visitors: The climate future isn’t coming—it’s being built, right here.
